Arequipa Coastal Conservation Centre
Arequipa Coastal Conservation Centre is a dedicated family-run project located on the remote beaches of Southern Peru. Nestled among pristine coves and small bays, this unique destination includes an ecolodge and a scallops marine farm. It proudly stands before one of Peru's most stunning coastlines, set against the backdrop of a surreal desert landscape.
Once reachable only through a 20-kilometer sea journey, recent developments have paved the way for a dirt road access to this hidden paradise. However, this captivating locale isn't just a picturesque haven. It serves as a vital sanctuary for diverse marine life, including Humboldt penguins, sea otters, sea lions, and an array of seabirds.
For the past two decades, the centre has been protecting this pristine coast from the encroachment of urban development and the overexploitation of marine resources. As devoted guardians of this coastal gem, they have steadfastly preserved its natural beauty for the benefit of future generations.
