TEHEDO

Tirinyi Education and Health Development Organization (TEHEDO) is a local Ugandan volunteer group that was formed in June 2009, with the aim of having communities across Uganda enriched with life skills, self-reliance, and freedom from poverty and disease.

The dedicated team at the organisation firmly believes in the importance of preparing children for a bright and promising future. The philosophy of the organisation revolves around nurturing each child's unique talents and fostering their autonomy, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in life.

At the heart of its mission, the organisation provides essential educational opportunities whilst prioritising the welfare of the most vulnerable members of the community, particularly orphans. Through a participatory approach and specialised programs, they offer crucial assistance and care, ensuring that vulnerable children receive the support system they deserve.

On average, TEHEDO has supported about 500 children annually since its foundation, with this assistance predominantly consisting of psychosocial support and care for orphans, as well as rehabilitation of abused and neglected children.

As the needs of the younger children began to outweigh the older, TEHEDO began to provide primary education. In doing so, the organisation established the TRIPPLE.H.COMMUNITY Primary School in one of the poorest areas in Uganda: the Kibuku District. Since the school’s establishment, TEHEDO has grown to provide support to over 800 children each year.

With its unwavering commitment to education and community empowerment, TEHEDO continues to make a profound impact on the lives of children in Tirinyi and the surrounding areas. As it cultivates young minds and instils in them a sense of purpose and self-reliance, the school's legacy of positive change endures, enriching the community for generations to come.
